For the longest time, Steve Cherkassky (Lost Puppy) had been secretly hoarding dozens of songs until his adventures in studio recording began in late 2014. A Berklee College of Music Graduate, Philly native, and professional songwriting recluse; his music focuses on the deciphering of emotional barriers we all face in our day-to-day. He draws influence from outsiders and rock bands like Elliott Smith, Sylvia Plath, Rilo Kiley, Daniel Johnston, and Queens of the Stone Age. To more melodic classic pop, jazz, and blues like the Beach Boys, Harry Nilsson, and Billie Holiday.
The journey towards the making of his Debut album, "Lost Puppy - Wash Your Hands Before You Steal My Heart", was shared with his former Berklee Prof. Dan Cantor of Notable Productions. Dan was, to Steve's surprise, appreciative of the punky rawness of some older material expressing disquietude with songwriting conventions and modern-day living. Dan's engineering/production expertise helped to guide Steve's vision of how the album should sound. After almost a year of hard work, Lost Puppy has finally opened its eyes, ears and arms to the world. Reaching out to be found.
